What I think is catching about the retarded mayor & his tax troubles is that IRS being interested in what seems to be a fairly large amount of unreported income. I wish that the mayor would dropthefuck dead.

If Dellums were to resign (please oh goddess Isis of Mercy and benevolent fortuitous events), the job would fall to Vice Mayor Ignacio de la Fuente. Why do you think he so quickly gave up the job of City Council president? Because IDLF knows where the real power lies: and also the weakest link. It’s a foregone conclusion that Dullums should resign. There is only one – or possibly three – more people to convince.

Do the names Timothy Geithner or Charlie Rangle come to mind? Conservatives are out front as being against excessive taxation (being legal theft)… liberals dogmatically love sticking it to the successful… so the losers can feel better about their lives. Dellums and Rangle may get to share a suite at the Leavenworth Hilton… or in hell.

I’m sure it’s all in good fun, but on what are you basing your accusation that “like most liberals, Dellums cheats on his taxes”? You’ve got to have at least a kernel of truth when you slander such a broad swath of people. My guess is that tax evasion crosses all political stripes…. hmm, conservatives included.

Yet one more instance of our glorious leader Dullums eating at the public trough. His recent performance introducing our new Police Chief was classic…he talked and talked and talked. Yet he really did not say anything. We are still shocked to this day that so many liberals in Oakland were hoodwinked by his empty rhetoric. Oakland got what it voted for–a long winded man who knows nothing about running a City and everything about spending the public coffers for his own enrichment or least his own enjoyment.

the word you are looking for is “liberal.” since day one, i have long suspected that o;’ cottontop was in it for the money. his ex is taking a huge chunk of his federal pension, he had an image but never seemed to get the lucrative deals to give him themeans to maintain his image. think of the city of oakland and its residents as his personal atm. we should feel specialm, but i feel raped.

Dullard’s salary was set by City Council according to the Charter formula laid out on the Strong Mayor Measure (P). Jerry Brown was eligible for an increased salary, but basically took a pass. One would surmise that Brown, unlike Dullums, had no outstanding federal tax liability.

The City pays for a limo, though the Mayor draws a $750/month car allowance. The limo brings him to work (when he sees fit to show up), takes him and the Missus out to dinner nights and weekends and takes the Missus on shopping trips to San Francisco.

Mayormaynotshowupforwork Dullums has two, count ‘em two, City-paid body guards. If my performance was as abyssmal as his, I’d probably feel the need for protection in public, too.

Finally, in the unlikely event that Dullums actually resigns, the Vice Mayor, IdlF, would take over. If more than a year remains in Mayormaynotshowupforwork Dullums term, a special election would be called. If less than a year remains, the Vice Mayor would serve out the remainder of the term.
